Heavy mutual aid from Rockland County to Greenwood Lake

Engine companies from Blauvelt, Central Nyack, Hillcrest, Nanuet, New City, Pearl River, Piermont, Suffern and West Haverstraw all sent to Greenwood Lake in Orange County where massive brush fire is threatening structures. This is the same fire that claimed the life of an 18 year old forest ranger yesterday

I know over the last week Westchester has sent over Buchanan, Bedford Hills, Somers, Katonah, South Salem, Montrose, Goldens Bridge, and Westchester Des Tech Rescue Team

Major response from multiple Nassau County departments, too. So far more than 30 Nassau County departments have responded.

From the Nassau County Fire Marshall's office:
"On Nov 13, the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office in our role as the County Fire Coordinator staged and escorted 5 fire departments from the Nassau County volunteer fire service embarked on their mutual aid deployment and the beginning of a three day deployment to Orange County to assist the Orange County fire service. We will be supporting them as they work in containing the wildfires in that area and assisting to protect homes and businesses that may be in danger from these fires. A total of 15 Nassau County volunteer fire departments will be sending Engine companies to assist today, Thursday and Friday. Today’s fire departments include the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department, the New Hyde Park Fire Department, the Farmingdale Fire Department, the Bethpage Fire Department, and the Oyster Bay Atlantic Steamer Fire Company."
