On the afternoon of Wednesday, January 31st, 2024, the Hicksville Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on Page Drive off Sutherland Road. Firefighters put multiple hand lines into operation as they battled heavy fire and clutter throughout a private dwelling. The fire took approximately fifty minutes to bring under control and its cause is currently under investigation. Two civilians were transported from the scene to an area hospital – one in critical condition and the other in stable condition. All fire department units were under the command of Hicksville Chief of Department Joseph DiFronzo [9301]. (Text Credit K2M)
