Even though we had rain the national weather service mentioning for a significant brush fire danger tomorrow.
LACK OF RAINFALL...AND COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS(20 TO 30 MPH
WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH) AND LOW RH VALUES (LOWER 20S PERCENT) ON
MONDAY WILL RESULT IN A SIGNIFICANTLY ENHANCED THREAT FOR THE
SPREAD OF BRUSH FIRES. WILL ADDRESS POTENTIAL IN HWO.

.HYDROLOGY...
RELATIVELY DRY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE...WITH NO SIGNIFICANT QPF OF
 
This should probably be posted across all boroughs and not just Staten Island.  Out of curiosity, where did you get this outlook?
 
Thanks raybrag, I was just wondering for that particular outlook specifically.  I regularly check the fire weather forecast and outlooks from Upton as well as the long term outlooks put out by the EACC, but I didn't see anything yesterday predicting such high gusts.  I saw the threat for brush fires but the conditions weren't listed.  I might have just missed it it.
