Hudson River/Tappan Zee Bridge, NY- Boating Accident 07-26-13

Hudson River- 1/4 mile south of the Tappan Zee Bridge

2240hrs- Cell phone caller reports a boating accident with (4) injured, (2) of which unconscious with (2) missing. Nyack, Piermont, Tarrytown, Irvington FD's being dispatched. Rockland Sheriff's Marine Unit contacted.

2245hrs- Rockland 13-Command (Piermont) req. (5) EMS units to stage at the marina.

2250hrs- USCG, Westchester County Police and NYPD Aviation all enroute.

2300hrs- Units searching for vessel. Caller still on the line and reporting (2) remain unconscious, (1) heavy bleed.

2316hrs- Nyack has made contact and is confirming the injuries. NYPD Air/Sea/Rescue enroute.

2320hrs- Units confirming the report of (2) missing.
 
Second missing victim recovered today. Awful story. Boat operator charged. River is wide and dark up there at night and moored barges require very little lighting by requirement.
 
Westchester units requested to the scene and/or to Standby and/or en-route:
WCPD Marine 2, WCPD Aviation, Irvington FD, Irvington Dive Team, Irvington Marine 4, Irvington EMS, Tarrytown FD, Tarrytown Fire Boat 5, Tarrytown EMS, Sleepy Hollow FD fire boat, Greenburgh medic, Yonkers Marine boat, Ossining EMS, and WC EMS 10 was requested to Landline WC 60-Control that night.
