Finally reached the age of 80; probably not the oldest member of this forum but close to it. Seems like yesterday when I joined Engine 248 as an auxiliary firefighter in 1964 and served there until 1973. Many happy memories working with the engine and riding as the "Aide to the Aide" in Battalion 41. Still responding to calls in CT as a member of the fire police in three departments.

Well Johnny D, you've been there TWICE, and now you're starting your THIRD Time Around.

I remember our volunteer firefighter days going back to 1973 in the Fairfield, Ct F.D. when us vollies got word of a guy from Brooklyn who will be joining our ranks.
That goes back FIFTY YEARS AGO.

Well Johnny, I don't know about you, but these days I need help climbing up into a fire truck and then some help getting out of it.
