All FDNY Members have to have a valid NY State Drivers License & that is all that is required to drive an ENG ...LAD or Rescue .

You still have to go thru chauffer school to be able to drive the rigs. You can have chauffer training with your company rig prior to but, if the rules still say, you can not respond or drive another company rig until you go thru school. And that's either Ladder or Engine. To do both you need to go to each school which used to be at da Rock and the surrounding Island.

Speaking of CR1 it’s not gonna be at L25 for awhile as E74 is with L25. It’s with E39/L16 gonna be for awhile.

Last I checked it’s behind E39 it’s not gonna fit in the 3rd bay

Not every unit that was a back up to something was required to have an extra ECC/LCC. A company trained member that has not been to chauffer school yet can drive the rig. He would drive the rig with the Officer and the chauffer school trained member would take the second piece.
