E168 has the room and space from sleeping for a Truck & Chief….

E158 can fit the truck without the reserve.

E159 can fit a truck if you put the Sat behind the engine…

SQ8 has plenty of room…
Wrong thread for the following info but on the topic of E159 they have been in a cage next to quarters for some time now, guessing quarter renovations.

As for a truck going to E168, that would certainly alleviate the long first due runs for both L84 and TL76 to Rossville. Although geographically needed, not sure the runs would be there to establish a new company down there.

Attached pic is from NYCFIREWIRE app. An added truck to E168 would even make for a faster truck co. response to the West Shore EXPWY, currently L84 responds from quarters to highway runs.

Here is an idea for you concerning Staten Island. Div 8 & Rescue 5 both can move to where EMS Station 22 is located, Willowbrook. The old hospital site had the room to build a new fire station to meet their needs. Response from there will put them both into many different communities' where additional fire protection is needed. If not Rescue 5 how about moving Squad 8 there & then reopening Eng 154.

Currently there are two ladder companies for every three engines on the island. Its the only borough bounced with that percentage.

For new fire stations - Please correct if I am wrong, how about Marine 4? I think that they were moved into new quarters. We also have the remove training facility off of Beach 116 St in the Rockaways.

that would be a long run for both companies into Brooklyn.

just for laughs...here is a scenerio
R5 to qtrs of E152.
E 152 to the ems station 22 in willowbrook (the midisland is in need of at least and engine co.)
E154 back to travis
Sq8 to replace E168 but as a rearmount
solves a coverage problem without adding any additional units

Why would you want to lose the services of a squad in Staten Island? Ladder 88 should be established in 168's quarters since the population in SI continues to increase.
I think 152 is needed where they are. Remember 153 is already covering part of the area where 154 was once stationed. That area is being rebuilt.
Moving Sq 8 to the Willowbrook Complex would be an improvement for the entire borough with the reestablishment of 154 in Travis. While at it, establish a battalion there so it can cover each of the 3 battalions now servicing the island.

L-79 Could be added on
E-158 has room possibly if you move the reserved rig

Anyone know what happen to the building at 65 Slosson Avenue. the 22 was temporary relocated there at one point. This its just used for communications. Still labeled as Staten Island Central Office. Don't think anything could be housed there.
The building is in use by FDNY.

When E72 was established and their quarters built in Throggs Neck, the firehouse also was lettered “Ladder 57.” That truck company never came into existence.
Ladder 57 sat in quarters but never manned.

in my scenerio...
staten island would not be losing the services of a squad company
squad 8 apparatus would be in the form of a rear mount ladder company replacing E168
