Fire located in a 3 story 75 X 200 ft. vacant paper mill.

Fire throughout vacant mill.

First alarm : Engine 9-5 ladder 4 rescue Car 21
Second alarm Engine 7-6 ladder 5 ( Mutual aid Methuen , Andover, Lowell ladder)
Third alarm Methuen , andover, Lowell ma to the scene, Lawrence engine 1, ladder 1.  OOS units being staffed off duty)

Fourth alarm, Salem NH  ladder, Haverhill engine No Andover engine

Mill has been vacant for several years, produced pulp and newsprint.  building is surrounded by Merrimack river to the north, Canal to the south, similar to the east and west.

building has several subterranean levels, including sluiceways.

5th alarm at 17:21:  Methuen ladder, North reading engine 4,

relaying over 2000 ft,

Now involved, 200 ft deep 300 ft frontage, and extending. all major bridges now shut down except the interstates.

They are working to get containment at this time, 5 aerials, attempting to get 4 guns in operation

Numerous out of town companies being relieved.
