"At 8:30 am this morning the Long Beach Fire Department received a report of an overturned boat across from 24 Clark St.
Upon arrival this was confirmed, it was unknown if anyone was on or under the boat.
The LBFD Water Rescue Team deployed our Jet ski, and boats from Atlantic Beach Rescue and the Lawrence Cedarhurst Fire Department as well as the East Rockaway Fire Department dive team responded to assist.
The East Rockaway dive team searched under the boat and found no occupants.
All Operations were under the command of Chief Hadrick Ray and Assistant Chief Babich." (Courtesy LBFD)
"This morning the East Rockaway Fire Department was alerted for a Mutual Aid response for its Dive Team to assist the City of Long Beach New York Fire Department at the scene of an Overturned Boat in a canal.
Heavy Rescue 407 and Tactical Support 409 responded. An ERFD Diver was deployed to perform searches of the boat and surrounding area with negative results.
Our highly trained Dive Team is one of the few Dive Teams in the County and stands at the ready to provide underwater search, rescue, and recovery services within East Rockaway and surrounding areas." (Courtesy ERFD).
Additional mutual aid from Island Park.
