"At 12:49 am this morning the Long Beach Fire Department received a report of a house fire at 55 Arizona Avenue, Assistant Chief Babich was on scene within 2 minutes and confirmed a Working Fire in a 2 story private dwelling.
Engine 2343 was first due Engine and stretched the first hose line, Engine 2341 arrived shortly thereafter and stretched a 2nd hose line.
Ladders 2362 and 2372, did a search of the house as well as opened the walls to check for any extension of the fire.
The Fire was under control within 20 minutes, one Firefighter sustained a head laceration and was transported to the Mount Sinai South Nassau Emergency Department at Long Beach for treatment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshals Office, the Nassau County Police Arson/Bomb Squad and the Long Beach Police Department.
We were assisted at the scene by the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department , Inwood Fire Department and the Island Park Fire Department.
The Woodmere Vol. Fire Department , Oceanside NY Fire Department, Point Lookout Lido FD and Atlantic Beach Rescue stood by for any other alarms.
All Operations were under the Command of Chief Hadrick Ray and Assistant Chiefs Marino, Babich and Reinhard."
