Looking Back - Train Derailment

Looks like an old IRT train.  Year?  location?

It's from the NYC photo archive that Truck 4 told us about a couple of months ago. Here's a link to it in that archive:

I don't know exactly when or where it was, but my guess would be the 3rd Ave El crash in 1919 . . . around 74th St, I think.

Judging by the way men are dressed I believe it's a little more recent than 1919, maybe 1930's to '40's. Also the street looks narrower than 3rd Ave. and some of the buildings are cast iron faced commercial like in lower Manhattan.

Yeah, I'd say '30's to '40's myself. It reminds me of that scene in King Kong when he derails the el train.
