"On Wednesday night, shortly after 8pm, Marine 1 responded to man overboard from a dinner cruise in the Hudson River. Marine 1 contacted the dinner boat captain, who told FDNY members they had been unsuccessful in locating the person in the water. Determining the current was southbound, Marine 1 moved quickly in that direction and spotted the victim in the water. Tethered by Wiper Mark Ackerman, Firefighter Brian Kehoe entered the water and swam to the victim. Once they were pulled aboard, members took turns doing CPR as Marine 1 entered the North Cove Marina, where EMS was waiting. EMS Members Lieutenant George Russo and EMTs Asif Ahmed and Karol Materna worked on the patient and used an AED. When a pulse was detected, the patient was transported to an area hospital."
