On this Day of Remembrance ....Continued Rest In Peace to those who have made the Supreme Sacrifice in Service to America.....may All Never Be Forgotten.....may their Family Members continue to find ongoing comfort in their absence.....

LIVE A LIFE WORTH THEIR SACRIFICE.

If you are going to watch one thing on Memorial Day, watch "The Cold Blue".

Done in 2018, it is a movie using the remastered, digitized outtakes of William Wyler's film "The Memphis Belle", recorded in the Spring of 1943 and released in the Summer of that year. Saying that combat photography is beautiful doesn't sound right, but you are literally there with "The Mighty Eighth"

See also "The Memphis Belle' and "The Making of the Cold Blue".

Memorial Day seems to be difficult for Americans to address.

It is at once the sad rememberance of such great sacrifice. (I count perhaps 50 soldiers lost in RVN in my memory.)

On the other hand Memorial Day is that first touch of summer that lifts the always optimistic American spirit.

And then I hear people struggle to recognize it and perhaps say "Happy Memorial Day". No, it is not that.

How about next year we say...
"Honor Memorial Day".
