A Boeing 767 cargo plane landing at Miami International Airport used up the entire runway and crashed through the perimeter fence the crashed into several cars on the perimeter street. The aircraft caught fire. Miami Dade Fire Rescue working this as a third alarm. MDFR ARFF crash trucks have knocked down the fire. Plane was an Amazon Prime Cargo jet arriving from San Juan PR

On the Miami-Dade fire front, here's a pre- or early-arrival view of the cargo jet crash at Miami International Airport. Occurred about 1:54 p.m.

Reports that the aircraft overran the runway and crashed on a road. Also impacted one or more vehicles. Heavy fire on arrival of the ARFF units, plus extrication needed for one or more victims. Mass-casualty incident also declared.

Those are units of 6th Battalion on the right. From the Fire Wiki, it looks like the airport station has three heavy ARFF trucks in front line service, Foam 1, Foam 2, Foam 3, all Rosenbauer Panther 6x6 crash trucks.

Assorted details from radio traffic. Initial triage with reports of black, red, and green tags. One engine on the jet could not be shut down, and units worked on a workaround, such as flowing water into the engine. [ Port engine, finally secured after 60+ minutes. ] Two Foam (ARFF) units later immobile, due to flat tires, including Foam 2 with two flat tires on the right side.

I think QV is the designation for their quick response vehicles at the airport. SQD is Squad 1. AS2 possibly is air support. HV1 is their 60 ton rotator. Not sure about V04.

QV is a rapid response vehicle at airport. Like a mini pumper with dry chem and Foam. HV1 is the heavy rotator boom truck giant tow truck/crane. Sqd is a squad.

My dad lives in somewhat rural Lake County. His neighborhood has had a bear wandering thru the last few months. Its been in neighbor's pools, garages, yards. Its taken out screens twice so far at my dads. 1 in the garage and the screen door to the pool twice. Found a 4th this weekend at the other end of the pool enclosure. We can usually tell if its in the area because his dog will not go outside. Cant blame him. Saturday he wouldnt leave the house so I had a clue it may have been nearby. Didn't realize it was in the backyard. Based on the holes in the screens pretty sure this is a baby. I was looking at his pool pump because he's had issues, and heard and saw a bush about 20 feet away move violently. Went back into the screen around the pool where my kids were, tried to get a better view and heard the bear growl. It apparently went in the other direction. And so did my kids and I.

Like when the plane touched down, it rode its nose gear for a pretty good length of time before the mains touched down.

There's a lot of things that went wrong. I saw a report yesterday saying that the plane approached at about 200 knotts according to vasaviation channel. About 70 Knotts faster then normal assuming it true. I did notice the first time I saw that video that the reverse thrusters didnt come on. Never noticed the mains weren't on the ground which explains alot.
