To those who served we were the best America had. To those who returned, Welcome Home. To our 58,000 brothers and sisters who did not a slow hand salute.
I served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. Operation "Sea Dragon" and "Game Warden" I served my second tour in Vietnam aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Ault DD 698. I had it good compared to the U.S. Army and Marines and the Navy River patrol squadrons. As also a FDNY Captain I have a lot of brothers and sisters to remember. From "Nam" and from the World Trade Center on 9/11/01. God bless those who never returned safe and sound for I know how lucky I was. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Retired Form Enginemen 3rd Class U.S. Navy.
