The city council objects to funding new kitchens in FHs ? .....where do they stand on the issue of the damage a private contractor working next door to the 86-53 Grand Ave FH of 287...136 & BN*46 has caused ultimately resulting in a previous Gut Renovated fully functioning FH to now be slated for demolition & then the cost of having a new one built on the site ?....where are they on that & were were they when we wanted eminent domain invoked to stop the work being done next door to preserve the FH from what has since occurred ?

Yearly Cost to House Someone in Jail

San Antonio $18,000
Houston $36,000
Philadelphia $47,000
Chicago $77,000
Los Angeles $90,000
Miami $107,000

New York $408,000

It's simple. Cut three sociopaths loose from Riker's Island and you've paid for the kitchen.

Councilman Kalman Yeger, whose district includes Boro Park, is no doubt a faithful steward of the peoples money.

With the ‘Political Correctness’ people in charge don’t expect fair bidding with minorities and female businesses given the advantage. Inflated prices are no deterrent to awarded contracts.

Take all of that plus the fact that they have to pay the prevailing wage rates which as we all know for NYC are utterly ridiculous it's no wonder that these renovations cost that much. Are they worth it? Depends on how you look at it but the firefighters certainly deserve good accommodations and if this is what it takes so be it.
