Are they going to do the Yankee Striping?
Not sure on that specifically, but they will definitely add all the customizations to it, eventually. The engine has the striping (also did the Ferrara), so I would say there is a good chance. Go Yankees!

We relocated to 173 sometime in the late 80's and there was a sign that said no rear mount rigs were permitted on the apparatus floor, so we parked on the apron. Word was floor wouldn't support Rear Mount because weight was concentrated and not spread out like a Tiller Rig. Have they reinforced the floor so rear mounts can now safely park in there? When I got on the job in 68 a lot of firehouses had extra lally columns in the basement to support the heavier rigs. 233 had the 2 sections and I remember 120 also had those columns in the basement.

L-8's ghostbusters patch identical to the Ferrara's was printed ages ago for the rig, as I recall seeing it in a pile of the rest. I'm sure that one's in or about to be in NJ by now. They are finishing up with the final pumpers.

Yes. That was done in the mid 90s I think. Maybe 96 or 97ish. I was with West Hamilton Beach at the time that occurred. At the time, they were in a tiller and the bay floor was sagging. From what 173 told us, the city came in and supported the floor for the tiller and the engine with supports in the basement. Which is why the city put the no tl or rm sign up. I moved to Fla in 95 and the floor was fixed with in maybe 2 or 3 years after that. Ballpark.
