Newark Resident, Firefighter Injured in Lincoln Avenue Fire
More than 20 people have been displaced as a result of the fire, officials said

NEWARK, NJ — A fire at a home located on Lincoln Avenue was extinguished Thursday, Newark Public Safety officials announced.
Members of the Newark Fire Division extinguished a three-alarm fire at 390 Lincoln Ave., according to Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara. Firefighters responded to the multi-story home at approximately 11:15 a.m., and third alarm was called at 11:26 a.m., according to officials.
The fire extended to two adjacent residences at 392 and 394 Lincoln Ave. The fire was considered under control at 12:40 p.m., according to officials.
“I commend our firefighters for their bravery and professionalism in response to this 3-alarm fire,” O’Hara said. “Over 100 Newark firefighters responded to battle this fire. I am grateful that the families affected will be supported through the Newark Office of Emergency Management for relocation services."
One woman, a resident of 392 Lincoln Ave, was transported to Clara Maass Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation, according to O'Hara. A male firefighter, who suffered burns to his face, was also transported to St. Barnabas Medical Center for treatment, officials said. No other injuries have been reported. As a result of the fire, 21 adults and eight children have been relocated.
The cause and origin of this fire is under investigation by the Newark Department of Public Safety’s Arson Unit.
