Initial few seconds were filmed from corner of Sherman Ave looking up Astor Street towards the fire, Engine 10 was quartered there since 1874. House was condemned and Company ultimately moved to Clinton & Belmont Ave with 5 Truck. Firehouse was razed a few years ago after storm damage

Has Newark Ever had a Tower Ladder issued to them? If they needed to special call one , where would it come from? Which Dept?

NFD's last tower ladder was Tower Ladder 6, late last year it was replaced by one of the American LaFrance rear mounts. It's currently at the shops, the idea (last I heard) is to give it to SOC and make it a special call piece. There was also talk about buying Roseland's old tower but I think that fell through.

Thanks Lebby , I think they need at least 2. Its a big City that has an Airport and Docks area. Hopefully they are thinking it over.

The airport and port are mainly covered by Elizabeth which does have a tower ladder.

The Neptune system is located throughout the UASI region as well as additional foam units. Wasn?t Ladder 1 a tower ladder? It?s no longer in service?

Is there a photo of the old mansion before the fire? Would love to see it and a bit of the history.

I believe at one time Newark had a "Ladder Tower", that I think they are called. The bucket being over the front of the cab.

Yes, as I remember it "was" Ladder 1, and at the time I think in the quarters with Rescue 1.

That goes back a long time ago though. I might have a picture of it somewhere.

Right you are sure, the trucks are one and the same. When T1 got disbanded, their apparatus went to T6. Also regarding the building, I've passed it many a time. Shane it ended this way.
