News anchors report 'Chicago Fire' plane crash as real

A morning show on WGN-TV, a television station in Chicago, was interrupted as it reported 'breaking news' that there had been a major accident on a highway.

EVERY TV and radio station was advised this was a scene from "Chicago Fire". WGN big boobs and no brains, which is typical of local TV news reporters. Show a scene from live TV with Snorkels working, they refer to them as "cherry pickers" only the guy from CBS TV2 understands what is going on, he has ridden with CFD companies and understands the job. Guy from NBC channel 5 is pretty sharp also. Channel 9, go get BOZO!!!!!!

Sure, why bother verifying a story before you report it.  These two are so dopey I expect to see them reporting news - er, I mean talking on TV - in the New York City market within six months.

They were reading a "Breaking News" message that was written and handed to them by other news staffers who should've checked it out first. It came complete with a newscopter video.
