NYPD vs. PAPD in WTC power struggle

lLets see how the new mayor & his Police Commissioner handle this.

Another sign of poor senior leadership - seems like both department leaders could use discretion and common sense.

It's along the same lines of the turf war between FDNY and NYPD.  NYPD wants to take over everything and unfortunately under the last several administrations have been allowed to do so.  There is no other Police Department in the world who has responsibility for hazardous material incidents nor does extrication at accidents like NYPD does.  It's basically a duplication of services that costs the taxpayers money!

Of course the Port Authority is not to be without playing either.  They try to handle fire protection at the airports and have been reprimanded by the FAA for the way they handle that.  FDNY is equipped and trained to handle fire protection and should be doing that at the airports as well.  This is especially true when you consider the fact that they respond anyway and if they had complete control the command structure will be much more integrated.

Let's see:  Turf battles between NYPD & FBI, NYPD & PAPD, NYPD & FDNY

There appears to be one common denominator in all of these "conflicts."

The PAPD and FDNY have had issues both on and off PA properties for many years.
