Oldest Active Firehouse

Does anyone know which company holds the distinction of being in the oldest active firehouse?

By referring to NYFD.com the oldest house is Engine 5 then Engine 26. Engine 5 moved into new quarters 340 E. 14th St. (Mar. 1, 1881) and Engine 26 relocated to 220 W. 37th St. (Mar. 22, 1882).

Engine 26 is the oldest active firehouse, they are in the same building volunteers used before they were organized there in 1865 they were temporarily moved. the RQTERS means returned to their quarters not relocated

Engine 5 also was organized in a volunteer fire house in 1865 but that building was turned down and a new one was built at the same location in 1881

For your information Boston's oldest firehouse is Engine 50's quarters in Charlestown @ 34 Winthrop Street. Built in 1874 it has been occupied since then except for a brief period April-May 1981 when it was dis-banded due to Prop 2 1/2. Chicago's Engine 30 @ 1125 N Ashland was built in 1881 and is Chicago's oldest.

The firehouse at 220 W 37th St was built in 1860 for volunteer Valley Forge Engine Company 46.

Engine Company 231  &  Tower Ladder 120 (FDNY) in Brownsville  Brooklyn have been side to side for 114 years, in the same Firehouse...

The firehouse located at 34 Winthrop St, Charlestown was built in 1853 prior to annexation of Charlestown and was first occupied by Boston Hose 3 in 1874. 

(34 Warren St is in Roxbury.  Engine 24 was at 434 Warren St but that was built in 1873 and replaced in 1947.  There was no firehouse on Warren Ave in Charlestown.)

Boston Engine 50's house has been renovated several times, most recently last year.  Good value from a building that the city didn't even build but acquired.

I don't know for sure, but I think Engine 226 has the distinction of being the company continuously active in its only quarters the longest.

Until its recent renovations, Engine 33/Ladder 15 was the oldest constantly occupied firehouse from its opening on 2-20-1888. Engine 18's house is from 10-5-1894 while Engine 24's house dates from 11-8-1898. The houses, not necessarily the present occupants.
