While I was someplace in no mans land with the family on Thursday my wifes friend suggested we go to the Orange County Fair with my grandkids for the day. While we were walking I noticed a few pieces of fire apparatus on display.  I saw a few other rigs inside a enclosed builcing and went in to check it out. To my surprise I found three rigs associated to FDNY.  There was a 1980 Seagrave from Aviation Volunteer E  3.......A 1986 Mack from Engine Co. 8 in Manhattan and a rig I had rode on when I was an Auxiliary Capt which was assigned to Engine Co. 305  from Forest Hills  Queens....1958 CF Mack......I will tell you just seeing the rig brought back many old memorys of the past years.  There were also other rigs on display that were old units....2  1957 Ward La Frances  a few Americam La Frances and others.  Does anybody know if this is a common for owners of fire apparatus display them at fairs..ect...Thanks

Thanks.....I was uner the impression that the rigs were privately owned.  An old timer that I was talking to said that there was a warehouse a few miles away from the fair that has over 200 pieces of fire apparatus

Likely he was talking about Andy Leider's Place in the Circleville/Middletown area.

Here are a few links to articles, videos, and photos.

This rig likely was 65 Engine's former 1983 Mack High Pressure Pumper which was purchased and used by The Kent V.F.D. in Putnam County for quite a few years. It was later retired by the K.V.F.D. and purchased by a collector (Lucas Paynter). On the linked photo page the pumper is misidentified-ed as having formerly been E-8 & E34.
