Reportedly, NYC population lost 100,000 people last year. On the other hand, NYC has the largest number of people...by far...worth more than $30,000,000 on the planet. Of course, that will buy a lot of helicopter rides to the Hamptons.

A city that made so much progress over the last decade in cleaning up the streets.

I remember the abandoned vacant lots with kids jumping on old mattresses, full of trash, abandoned burned out cars, even dead dogs. There would be a half dozen rats eating garbage in the streets and those lots. One afternoon a local Dunkin Donuts had a dozen rats in the parking lot having a feast on the trash.

The streets were cluttered with trash and needles like seen in the picture above.

People wanted to leave NYC and many did.

Things had to change and they did - For the Best. The streets were cleaned up and many wanted to return to NYC and younger people were moving in.

But now it seems things are returning to what they once were. Back to when some people referred to some parts of NYC as "A Third World Country".
