Patrick was born on April 21st, 1936, to Christopher and Alice Guiney of Cork City, Ireland. After immigrating to the United States, “Paddy" graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School, in Bronx, NY and soon after joined the United States Army spending most of his service in Germany.
In 1968, he began a 30 year long career as a New York City firefighter. Beginning his service in the 69 Engine in Harlem, NY, Paddy soon joined the 73 Engine and 42 Truck spending almost all of his career on Prospect Avenue in the South Bronx. Paddy retired as a Lieutenant.
Paul was born May 13, 1946 in the Bronx, NY to Howard and Katherine (McCauley) Tangerman. He attended St. Raymond’s Boys High School and later when he was in the Army, was a dog handler on the DMZ. Afterwards he joined the FDNY and was a firefighter in the South Bronx, a job which he loved and spoke about always.
FF Jon R. Versheck was off-duty and had left Engine 91 after marching in the St. Patricks Day parade. He discovered a fire at 150 E. 97th Street. Jack Boyle Rescue 1 Died from World Trade Center-related illness
Mr. Boyle was a United States Army Veteran who served in the 82nd Airborne Paratroopers Division, NYC Transit Police Officer, FDNY Firefighter for over 30 years, member of Rescue Company 1 in Midtown Manhattan and 9-11 First Responder. He was also the recipient of the FDNY Holy Name Society "Man of the Year" Award in 2002 and Holy Name Society Medal in 1979 for rescuing children from a fire.
