Philadelphia 4 alarm apartment building

Northeast Philadelphia. Engine 71, Tower Ladder 28 (running with reserve TDA), Battalion 12 first in.

This fire was in Northern Philadelphia, it is Somewhat west of the Philadelphia Fire Academy. Take note of the cinder block walls of this building that were covered with a Mansard style Wood Covering. Any fire venting or auto exposing out any widow near the wood siding had to result in a serious fire in the wood siding and the void spaces behind the siding. Construction like this always has severe consequences in the event of any self-vented fire. Look around your response area what do you have in your neighborhoods. I proud to say my grandson is a member of the Philadelphia F.D. serving in West Philly. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired
