if E/T A relocated to E/L B does this count as a run, I assime a ticket must be written. It seems FDNY does a lot of relocations, BFD is not as intense. I think the only dedicated move-ups are to East Boston (D-1, E5/9/56/L2/21 and D-11 Brighton, E29/41/41L11/14. Both districts are really seperated from the main part of Boston. I cannot undertand ladder companies from these districts being detailed on a fire detail/fire watch duty. Now you need a truck to the fire and a truck to cover, eg L1 or 24 to EB (D-1) or L15/26 to D-11. These are looong runs for these companies.

Relocations, despite what some company officers think, are counted as runs and are to be responded to lights & siren.

Frank, I know that we are to resond in emergency mode, but are you sure that they count in our run totals?  The ticket is not stored in the msg or ticket data base on the house watch computer.

Here's a better question, when we go on runs while relocated who gets that run?  It goes in their journal, but we took it in.  Who's total does that add to?  Just curiosity....

Chowson you enter the relocation on your cd-14 so it is a run credited to your unit. When you get a run in the relocated area you enter it on a separate cd-14 that is for relocators, usually in red ink. when you return to your quarters and enter the relocation you also enter the time and number of responses you unit had while relocated.
You could be relocated for 1 hour and had lets say 2 runs with 1 worker for 20 minutes. So at the end of month you could have relocated 3 times for 5 hours and had 5 runs and 3 workers for 1 hour while relocated. Hope this helped

During the busy days in 82 we had a separate binder for relocated/interchange units (red entries). Recall one very busy day tour and we went on R&R from a 4th. I used to keep my runs on a sheet in the rig and would enter them after I was relieved on the tour. This day I was doing my entries and a relocated engine was responding to our qtrs. I counted 11 or so runs they were directed to before they got to our FH. I left and the next day when I came in there were no entries for the relocating unit. This could be a problem for if there was a question on a box you had to have an entry, somewhere, for some particulars. I called the officer of the engine up and asked him about the entries. He said "we never got there, had about 17 runs and then caught an all-hands." Taking up they just returned to their own qtrs. Not sure where these entries ever were entered. Lot of runs during this period were just "forgotten."
