Red Hook 5/15

While in the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal a little after noon yesterday I observed a pretty good loom up of black smoke toward the west, like maybe into Red Hook.  The smoke died down in about ten minutes but I did observe an Engine, Tower and Chief along the waterfront on the west side of the Gowanus.  Leaving the Terminal I went by 224 and 228 was backing in.

I got some info that there may have been a fire involving some motorcycles at an impound lot.

Any additinal info?

Erie Basin Impound Lot on Columbia Street

Motorcycle fire in the lot.

1301 - Bn. 32 - Drop the assignment down to a 10-18.  I'm arriving on scene.  Someone has water on the fire, perhaps a tugboat or PD.

Thank you much.  That was the closest I came to a job during my visit to NYC.  Will be going up to Tribeca next month for work

Water on the fire was from a marine unit, one of the smaller ones.
