When a company relocated to another and they say we are 10 8 in xxx company's area are they saying we are in front of there fire house or where there first due area begins?
It usually means that the relocating company is in the response area of the company they are going to. They also supposed to notify one dispatch when they are leaving that frequency and the other dispatch that they are on that frequency relocating to XXX when going boro to boro.
I know that about relocating between boroughs for example
Tower Ladder 35 gets relocated to tower ladder 12 how does ladder one know when they are in there response area? Do they take a guess around 26 street and 7 ave ?
The "response area" is both their 1st & 2nd Due area sometime it is a guesstimate or they just don't say anything till getting close to the FH if they are not familiar w/the area.....most Units have a good idea of where they are especially places they normally relocate to.
A lot of times you relocate to the same house, however on a multip alarm you have relocated company's that may be dispatched to the job and companys further out come in
