A MESSAGE FROM JOEs DAD......QUOTE....The FDNY has not recognized my sons death as being connected to the fire where he was injured.

I was interviewed by Mary Murphy and it will be seen this evening on WPIX channel 11 at 10 PM News.

Also, in tomorrows Daily News there will be an article by Dennis Hamill about Joey if you are interested.

I was fortunate to have worked with Joey 'D' for my last couple of years on the job. Joey was 100% Firefighter, he loved the fire service in general and the F.D.N.Y. in particular. After I retired (in 2002), Joey came down south and visited me and my family. He always kept me up to date on what was happening around the job and in the firehouse. He knew how much I missed the job and he made it his business to stay in touch via texts, e-mails and phone calls. With all that Joey went through, it saddens me to hear that the department has not acknowledged his tremendous sacrifice.  He and his family will always be in my prayers. I miss ya Brother ...
