On 4-7-26 at 61 yrs of age....RET 2015 after 25 yrs OTJ......REST IN PEACE BROTHER...PRAYERS FOR THE COMFORT OF THE FAMILIES.
With regret, the Department announces the death of retired Marine Pilot Steven W. Lukawski, Marine 9,
appointed August 19, 1990, retired November 21, 2015, which occurred on April 7, 2026. This member bravely
served this Department protecting life and property in the City of New York in the rescue and recovery at Manhattan
Box 5-5-8087 World Trade Center.
The heartfelt sympathy of the entire Department is extended to the family, relatives, and friends of the deceased
in the midst of the great loss that they and the Department have sustained.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 981 Castleton Ave.,
Staten Island, NY, on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 1300 hours. All off-duty members and their families are invited to
attend. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.
