This is a fifteen minute long overview of the firefighting operations at the 1990 drydock fire aboard the large passenger ferry Sally Albatross, at Finnboda shipyard in Sweden. Pretty complicated fire that took some time, and to a degree some unconventional approaches, to get under control.

According to the video this occurred in 1990, which date is correct? Interesting that even back then they tried using a robot.

Excellent video of this incident that we can all learn from. In light of the recent tragic fire that killed two Newark N.J. Firefighters we need to look at past ship fires and see what has been "Forgotten or Never Learned" from the past. We should be thankful that our Swedish friends, whose history if seafaring goes way back. also have a history of knowing how to fight Shipboard Fires. We can use all the good help we can.
