In my Co. we have an engine and ladder with cabs laid out just like the one described they're both Pierces, I personaly dont like having the 2 seats in the middle, one reason is you have limited leg room, luckily I'm a small guy but i could imagine for a tall guy sitting there it must suck, another is you cant get in the rig as quick as having both seats right inside the door, and also the FDNY is going to loose alot of storage space due to the fact that they have tools mounted over the engine right now. But I am glad theyre not going with Pierces, the seagraves look much better.

thats a crew cab and they suck

Im thinking the city might keep the same seat set up just have nothing in the middle sort of like this truck below . (Not FDNY specs)
