Selmer police officer Rick Finley killed after shooting on New Bethel Road in McNairy County

Upon his arrival, he encountered 39-year-old Daniel Jeremiah Holmes. Preliminary investigations indicate that Holmes attacked Officer Finley before firing multiple shots, fatally wounding him.

Officer Down Memorial Page is showing Officer Finley belonged to the McNairy County Sheriff's Office, where he is a Sergeant. Sergeant Finley is a part time officer with Selmer PD.
