Watching the Weather Channel, do not know exactually where there are but I am sure it is very rural. Engine Company and an ambulance going into Harm's Way These guys are vollies, the weather channel is showing a very dangerous situation. Do not know the guys making that run, I hope you were safe, and I hope your home, your wife, and your kids and (dogs) survive. Grumpy Grizzly is old school, please God bring EVERYONE safe.
 
Nashville authorities, take shelter immediately!!! Guess 18" of snow does not destroy your house. Guys, this is a VERY, VERY dangerous situation!
 
Actually both Henryville and Marysville were pretty much flattened as well as several other small towns.  The death toll between Kentucky and Indiana is dealt to 17, 12 in Indiana and 5 in Kentucky!  Louisville itself was very lucky, the storms went north and south of us!
 
Just sent an engine company to the county south of us to do damage assessment and clear and search. We have had it all day! Tornados down but working rural areas.
 
I was not happy to have to shovel 23 inches of snow last year , but when I was done I could hug my wife, play with the dogs, and get a shot of Jack. Those poor people have nothing. I know people always say you can rebuild, but where could I find a pix of my son sitting on the bumper of the  Boston Tower Unit. We visited the house, company officer moved the rig out for a better pix. I am at a loss of words to explain my sympathy for those who have suffered such losses.
 
grumpy ...i agree.....watching the news on TV certainly can make a seemingly crappy day good when you see what others are dealt.....i hope they receive all the help possible but as you said some things can never be replaced.
