I haven't seen any, not in a while.  But, don't be surprised if you see them come back on the street as something like a foam unit.

They should replace the Foam units with the 92-98 rigs , the Macks are 24 year old rigs they are all gonna break down eventually.

In theory they should never break down. As long as parts are still available, you can run any machine forever.

Those Mack Pumpers, I think will outlast and out pump any Engine out there today. Those Macks were real work horses.

The only 1992 - 1996 Seagrave pumpers left are the 1993 Hi-Pressure spare (ex-E258), and the 1994 "Frank-en-squad" (sorry, Reserve Squad 800) (ex-E66).  All of the others, including the 1992 "Frank-en-squad" are gone from the roster.  Only 6 1997 Seagraves are left (first with grilles) - 4 spare, 1 BOT, and RE505.  Most of the 1998's are assigned to the 21 other Reserve Engines, with the rest either spares or at the BOT with a few disposed of as well.  The majority of the spare fleet are the 2000 - 2002's.

I sure AGREE there my friend. Those Macks were by far the Best Work Horses I ever saw. And then team them up with those Mack Tower Ladders, and you had a "Mack Attack".... Second to None.

I also agree about those Macks, but as a young buff - I remember visiting the houses and seeing double Macks and thinking that was what it was supposed to look like - and then seeing an ALF and going "what the hell is that"???

I have a framed Mack ad that was in Firehouse magazine. It shows 3 Mack TL's including TL-22 working at a fire. Also there are two Mack CF's in the background. Great shot 8) 8)

Manual transmissions up until the very late 60's when the automatic's came on the rigs.

1968 American LaFrance Tillers had the first automatic trans on Ladders in the FDNY.
