Great FDNY History photo of SQ*5 in the Bread Wagon responding from the old QTRS of ENG*17 RIP & LAD*18 (also QTRS of BN*4 in a separate bay / door not visible to the right) at 185 Broome St bet Suffolk & Clinton Sts.....SQ*5 was originally organized in the QTRS w/ ENG*5 on 14 St bet 1st & 2nd Aves.....then moved to Broome St w/ ENG*17....then moved to 269 Henry St off Montgomery w/ ENG*15 ......then to 55 East Broadway bet Market & Catherine in the former QTRS of ENG*9 .....then SQ*5 was scheduled to go into the then "new" Fort Pitt w/ 17..18 & 4 but was instead sent to East 150 St bet Morris & Cortland w/ ENG*41 in the BX.... all these moves took place between when organized in 1959 & when disbanded in 1976 ...... two of my good friends who have since Passed To A Higher Level were FFs in SQ*5....Jim Rogers & Jack Fanning ..... www.ebay.com/itm/334046399676?hash=item4dc6b78cbc:g4AAAOSwdt9gzjRK |
