Bid out for 7 Squad Support Units.  Looks like the same design as Squad 1's

What about the haz-mat tech rigs? Thought the squads were going to get something that looks almost like the second piece of haz-mat 1?

These are 2 door cabs
25' Max length
3 Compartments on each side
1 Compartment in rear for trench and collapse wood.
5 Compartments on the roof

If you look the at the current Squad 1 TRV, picture it without the 1st compartment.
So you have one large compartment in front of the wheels, 1 over the wheels and 1 read of the wheels.

185 CFM compressor

Does this mean that the squads will not be doing haz-mat anymore if these new support vehicles are going to carry more tech rescue equipment or is there going to be room for all of their haz-mat gear?

What are they in size relation to the current piece, as it seems like a tight squeeze already at Squad 61 with the rig and the battalion.

I was reading somewhere that the battalion is going to relocate.  I'll see if I can find the article.

They just changed the spec and put it out for another bid.

Did the prices come back way to high?

As for the haztech engines I think there second pieces are all a few years newer than the squad second pieces.

Don't know why the change, It looks like they might have changed from roll up doors to normal doors.
The PTO air compressor was changed

I am sure there was other things here and there.
The vendors also might have made comments and suggested changes.

Heard ferrara for 7 units at 34 million any truth to this??
It wouldn't surprise me if Ferrara got the bid based on recent history but the 7 units for $34,000,000 sounds a bit ridiculous.  That would make them almost $5,000,000 each and I don't believe any single piece of apparatus could be worth that much better how it was equipped.

Could it be similar to this?
There's no telling what they will look like yet but I think that's certainly a possibility.  It would seem like they would want as much storage space as possible and don't really need space for more than 2 crew members.
