St. Bernard (Hamilton County), OH fire at recycling facility for second time in two months

Crews from multiple departments, including Cincinnati Fire Department responded to a fire at Rumpke Recycling facility in St. Bernard Saturday. The fire took several hours to extinguish. This was the second fire at the facility in two months.

St. Bernard Rumpke facility faces second fire within 2 months

At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, a fire erupted at the Rumpke Recycling at 5535 Vine Street. No injuries reported, police report.

I have not heard what caused it, here is a quote from company communication's manager:
“Unfortunately, we have far too much experience with these types of events, as flammable items like batteries, propane tanks and full aerosol cans continue to mistakenly make their way into recycling.”
