Thanks for posting. These charts really make you think about the dangers of this profession, and it is worthy of reflection of the Supreme Sacrifice made by so many members, FDNY and all other departments. God bless our heroes - lest we forget.
But also, it is reassuring to know that the many changes made to protect firefighters made after the 1970s have successfully reduced firefighter deaths significantly. And there is still more work to be done, especially to combat Cancer. One death is one too many.
The FDNY company death rankings are related to a few specific fires. LODDs sadly occur in any firehouse.
