Dan which Neptune Rig are you talking about?
it's a system that New Jersey set up as part of their home security effort. They have 3 5000 GPM pumping units trailer mounted stations around the state. In addition to that they have units with 12"hose to work with the system as well as monitors that will flow 5000 GPM. They also have capability to flow form up to 10,000 GPM. It's a modular system and can be deployed in many ways. Individual units are kept at individual fire departments who respond with their part of the system when requested.

Here's a link to one incident it was used at: http://www.nj.com/union/index.ssf/2013/09/union_county_neptunesystem_one_of_three_in_new_jersey_fought_seaside_boardwalk_fire.html

Both of FDNY's big boats (343, Firefighter II) are equipped with 12" connections to supply the Neptune system . . . and one of them was used to do so at an incident along the Hudson River cliffs in 2014. It provided enough water through the 12" hose to supply FIVE 5" lines.

I think FDNY already has a couple of those type already I think.  Also I would see them buying more like they have already with the Mack Chassis maybe just bigger.
