207 isn’t exactly close either, as 226 and 205 are both essentially in between them and 224’s quarters.

Some more useless information to add

*Engine 220 & Ladder 122 are parked back to back on the Engine side of the 2 buildings

*Engine 287, Ladder 136 & Battalion 46 park outside due to the floors being messed up from A. Construction next door & B. A 10-60 years ago next door

Well E207 has the room E205 and E226 don’t
I’m well aware.
But you said that 207 would be better..
Either house they moved to, they would be losing their 1st due boxes, so why is one better then another?
From 279 it’s a straight ride down either smith, Clinton or Hicks to their “normal” area. Which is what my point was. One wasn’t necessarily better then the other.

Every neighborhood in the city is effected when they lose a Firehouse, even temporary. Bklyn Heights -Carrol Gardens is one of the most congested with narrow streets and heavy traffic congestion. E -202,205,207 and even 226 will be greatly delayed and expect response times to increase 2x.
The surrounding areas, including Downtown, Carrol Gardens and waterfront, has seen huge development in recent years. Another area where the city needs to reevaluate response times and population density. The loss of E204 will be continually felt and the temporary relocation of 224 should be considered with any relocation of any of those adjoining companies.

It’s too bad 204’s quarters is in such disrepair. Would have been a good spot for 224 to go for the next year +.

Does anyone know why?
99% a renovation of quarters... especially the apparatus floor.... some locations they can store the rig in a pen outdoors but i don't think this location would lend itself to that convenience

Indeed a very tight/congested area on Hicks Street. Like mentioned earlier BK HTS blocks are tight and narrow, they’re among the oldest in Brooklyn. Hence the need for L118 tiller.
