This Unit Location Chart is from 1/1/45:

As far as I know, there is one battalion today that is the same as then with all the same units in the same locations.
What battalion is it?

P.S. I can't post the image of the chart, only its link.
If someone can, please do so.

Correct me if Im wrong here, but I'm pretty sure the Staten Island BC's haven't changed locations over the years?

Interesting, I never knew that my old neighborhood companies 286/135 were in the 37. It's also interesting to note that 277 and 112, who were then in separate quarters were in 2 different battalions.

One difference I notice about SI (there may be more) is that 165/85 weren’t established yet (would be in the 23). Also note how E154 was still in the 21 before moving to Victory Blvd and changing to the 22 Batt.

Amendment to post: 166/86, 167/87 and 168 all were not formed yet either.

Why was L81 in the 23 but E161 in the 21? Were they not housed together yet? Opposite ends of island.

L81 didnt move in with 161 until 1960, at the time with 159.

The 23 battalion included 151, 159, 162, 164, 76, 81, 82 and 84, stretching from Tottenville all the way up to todt hill/dongan hills.

The unit chart shown above FROM "raybrag" is from 1948. When I came on the job in January 1973, in March 1973 I was assigned to Engine 27 at 173 Franklyn St. part then of Battalion 2. Most of the Chief's in Batt. 2 had just been transferred from the then closed Batt. 5, that had been in the Greenwich Village but then had been closed. At that time Ladder 20 was quartered with Engine 13, on Mercer Street = "Firemen's Hall". Engine 24 and Ladder 5 were in separate firehouses. Ladder 5 at that time had a Mack Cabover Mail truck type cab and a cut down tiller seat roof to clear the low overhead clearance in their firehouse. Later I worked on the Lower East Side and up until 1975 Squad# 5 was still in-service on East Broadway.
Everything changed after I was Laid Off on 7/1/75. I was rehired in March of 1976 and assigned to the highly active Ladder 11 and a year later the also highly active Tower ladder 18 quartered with Engine 17 and Battalion 4 on Pitt Street. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired

Don't mean to quibble, Cap, but I was just posting the image that "t123Ken" referenced in his post that started this thread. In it, he says it's from 1/1/1945. I have no idea if that's correct, if you are, or if both of you are wrong. Jus trying to help since I knew how to save & post it. ;)
