Updated SCBA

Started upgrading the SCBA's in the field some of the new features are:
Buddy lights in the rear
New Remote Gauge with backlight
Pak Tracker System added
Removed HUD Battery pack
Updated the battery pack / Speaker system to run all devices.

At some point they will deploy the locater.

The remote gauge is a pain when it comes down to doing low and reduced profiles with a gloved hand.

Went through drill with new scba and members had trouble locating alligator clip under new larger remote gauge, the led lights are not readable in smoke condition, same with backlight on remote gauge you cant see it in a heavy smoke condition, the lights on rear of scba are also not visible under heavy smoke. Added about 2 pounds more weight to scba for the extras. The new sounds are an improvement but you would think we could be somehow reducing weight in lieu of adding.

Is the Pak Tracker in any way similar to the SEMS?

Not sure what SEMS is?

As far as the clip under the gauge, I found I had to push the strap/gauge to release it. Instead of trying to feel for the clip under the gauge I just grap the entire thing, seemed to work better.  The only think I like about it is the Pak-tracker.

SEMS is a laptop based tracking system.
The Pak-Tracker is more along the line of LoJack and can be used to locate missing members.
