Multi-Agency Response Contain Early-Morning Commercial Fire in Middlesex County
MIDDLESEX COUNTY, Va. — Firefighters from across Middlesex County responded early this morning to a commercial structure fire off Old Virginia Street, just outside the town of Urbanna.
At approximately 3:48 a.m., all Middlesex County fire departments were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, crews encountered a dynamic and challenging incident involving a large area with multiple types of materials burning, requiring a coordinated and sustained firefighting effort.
Due to the scale and complexity of the fire, additional assistance was requested. Fire departments from Gloucester, Tappahannock, and White Stone responded to provide mutual aid, helping to bring the incident under control.
Fire officials reported that the scene was officially placed under control around 7:30 a.m. No further details on injuries or damage were immediately available.
Officials praised the strong teamwork and cooperation among all responding agencies, noting that the coordinated response was critical in managing the fire safely and effectively. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

From Hartfield Volunteer FD:

Early this morning at 0348 all departments of Middlesex County were dispatched to a commercial fire off of Old Virginia Street outside of Urbanna. Crews were met with a dynamic situation with a large area and many different materials burning. Additional support was provided by Gloucester, Tappahannock, and White Stone fire departments. There were no injuries and the scene was placed under control around 0730. Great teamwork amongst all departments!
