The US Army has auto manufacturers working on bids for a new tactical truck This would be based on heavy duty pickups like Silverado or F-150 models. It would be an off road rig that would operate as a mobile charging unit for drones and communication command-and-control systems as well transport troops. 600 units are planned.
The Army already has a smaller GM tactical truck that cost the taxpayers $330,000 per unit.
Makes new fire trucks seem like a bargain.
