Neighbor helps save people from burning home in Mass., family says
In addition to heavy flames, firefighters had to battle the bitter cold conditions as they knocked down the blaze.

Engine 5, 4, 2, 13 Ladder 4,7 Rescue 1, Car 4 Ladder 5 RIT
Receiving calls reporting fire in the rear of the house. House is occupied.
22:26 Engine 5 establishing command on arrival with fire showing from the delta side of a 2 story wood frame.
22:29 Car 4 (District Chief Rogacz) arriving taking command request the 2nd alarm.
Engine 15, 12 Ladder 1 Car 3
Fire on rear porches and into attic now. Ladder 4 reports hoarding conditions on 2nd floor
22:34 Companies have water on the fire interior on floor 2.
22:36 Urgent Engine 5 reports a burst hand line
22:43 Priority traffic Rescue 1 on the 3rd floor has fire pushing them back down to the 2nd floor. Command reporting still have heavy fire over the rear porches.
22:45 Per Car 4 evacuate the building
22:48 Fire alarm advises 20 minutes in. Car 4 advises going defensive, hoarding conditions and high winds and heavy fire. PAR being conducted.

Here are my pics. I live 5 minutes down the street and got in with the last of the first alarm companies. House was situated on a hill and between the wind and the cold temperatures the windchill was blow zero.
