Worcester,MA 4 Alarm Warehouse Fire 7/29/2020

16:07 Box 2-17 512 Southbridge Street A+D Cold Storage
1st Alarm Engines 2, 13, 15, 12 Ladders 3, 7 Rescue 1 South End Chief. Ladder 1 is RIT
Car 4 reports heavy smoke showing from the roof of a cold storage building.
16:10 2nd alarm
Engines 4, 6 Ladder 5
Command reports exterior attack only and establish a collapse zone. Origin of fire was behind a metal clad wall. Companies can see fire poking thru the smoke now. Ladder 5 is now RIT
16:22 URGENT roof starting to collapse
16:24 3rd alarm
Engines 5,16 Ladder 4
16:48 4th alarm
Engine 3,7 Also request Mass Department of Fire Services Rehab Unit and Worcester Box 4 Canteen.
Once the fire was out a mobile ventilation unit from the Sutton Fire Department was called to evacuate smoke from the building.
For those that don't remember Worcester has a bad history with cold storage buildings.

6 Worcester FFs were killed on Dec 3, 1999 in a cold storage warehouse fire. Code 3 did a memorial engine in their memory. For a department the size of Worcester, that's a HUGE loss.
