At approximately 1230 hrs, the Pawcatuck, CT Fire Department (Town of Stonington) responded to a working structure fire at 217 Liberty Street, also known as CT Route 2.  Heavy fire upon arrival in the rear of a one story wood frame 80 x 40 retail seafood market.  PFD responded with three engines and a fairly new E-ONE rear-mount tower ladder.  Mutual aid was requested from nearby Westerly (RI) Fire Department and they responded with two engines and a ladder.  Firefighters were withdrawn from the roof when it was reported to be spongy.  Shortly after, fire was thru the roof and PFD's tower ladder was put into operation with its master stream.

Name of the establishment was Seafood Etc.  Coincidentally, one of their other locations, in Norwich, CT, had a serious working fire in the past two years.  That store re-opened only recently.
