You've got to be kidding

Now we are going to have to get a release signed before we can fight the fire, remove the patient or do anything else! Jeez!

This poor guy deserves a break.  Maybe his lawyer can sue the state for the sharp curve in the road, the company which painted the lines in the road for not being viewable, the sign company which probably made a bad curve warning sign, the weather service for an inadequate  weather forecast, the highway department for poorly maintaining the road,  the cop and his department for not directing traffic properly, the manufacturer of the fire apparatus, the manufacturer of his own vehicle, his seat belt and air bag makers, tire manufacturer, brakes manufacturer,  the manufacturer of the jaws for not extricating him fast enought, his medical transport team, the doctors for malpractice.....Everyone screwed this guy.  Even the media is traumatizing him and his lovely mom.

I feel sorry for this poor guy.  I think society caused all his problems - his drug issues, inability to work, failed relationships, poor driving, living with his mother....

And his lawyer seems to be honest and caring - just trying to do the right thing.

What assholes.

This is what modern day society has turned into. No matter how bad you f/up, it's not your fault. It is always someone else's fault. You go out and get drunk and wreck your car and kill someone, it's the bartender's fault or the guy in the liquor store who sold you the bottle. You buy a gun and then shoot someone, it's the fault of the person who sold you the gun etc, etc, etc. We live in a blameless society spurred on by the legal profession.

The problem with this country is it produces more lawyers than any other country but less engineers and scientists. >:(

Times are for sure changing for the WORST. Just the other day, was on OT on the Engine and we parked in the fire lane in front of the Kroger(supermarket), when got back to station, advised to call Battalion 1, who was cool as Hell, but regardless we got a complaint from a low ranking City Manager that was "very upset" that we broke the LAW by parking in the Fire Lane,we all had to be reminded that we must follow ALL the LAWS when not on an Emergency call, great now we will park the truck way in the back parking area, so not to get blocked in or hit a car pulling in or out, and have a delayed response time, plus what about the HUNDREDS of times, kids and their parents walk up to see the "Big red" truck, Public Education/Service all the time, NO ONE calls and thanks us (hardly, bless the hearts of the ones that DO and it means A LOT),but we sure hear about all the complaints and QUICKLY,times are changing, glad I am more then half way through my career, wouldn't want to start now.

Just another reason for my agreement to the SNOOPY philosophy ... "I love mankind, it's people I can't stand!"
